The Mission of God Study

What does it look like to see God’s mission in the gospel move forward and go forth in our small groups, our relationships, workplaces, families, neighborhoods and beyond? How can we get in on what God is doing in the world through the gospel?

To see God’s mission move forward means to participate in God’s big story. When it comes to the good news of Jesus, we want to help it move onward in the world so that more people can know Jesus. We want to keep the good news of what Jesus has done at the forefront of all that we do.

In order to keep pursuing God’s mission of moving the gospel forward, we have to understand God’s purposes in the gospel, the role of Jesus, the role of the church and our role as followers of Jesus. The Mission of God small group studies are designed to help equip you to better understand God’s mission and the role we play as the church as we join God in His work moving the gospel forward.

The Mission of God Study: Series Overview

What is the mission of God? In other words, what is God trying to accomplish? To better understand that, we will look at how God wants to move the gospel forward in the world.

The Mission of God Study: Week 4 Leader Guide

Lead a Bible study on the role we play in God’s mission. As followers of Jesus, we receive the Holy Spirit who equips us with gifts and calls us to join God’s mission to help more and more people become fully devoted followers of Jesus.

The Mission of God Study: Week 3 Leader Guide

Lead a Bible study on the role of the church in God’s mission. Jesus calls his people to himself to gather together as the church, and worship God, nurture believers and witness to the world of his good news.

The Mission of God Study: Week 2 Leader Guide

Lead a Bible study through the central role Jesus plays in fulfilling God’s mission. Jesus comes to make God fully known and to die for sins that we might be saved and know God.

This study will look at God’s mission and purposes for the world and the good news of the gospel: God desires for people to know him and be saved.
