This passage explores how God’s people should look as He builds them into the spiritual house. The sections in this passage show how we relate to one another and all orbit the center of the passage: that Christ lived and died for us, to rescue us and give us a new kind of life to live.

Questions

  1. If a picture speaks 1,000 words, what would you want a snapshot of your life to say about your faith?
  2. Peter essentially says to honor everyone, love other Christians, fear God, and honor those in government. Which of these do you find to be most difficult for you? Why do you think that is?
  3. How might looking to Jesus’s example of selfless sacrifice give you a fresh perspective and help you navigate your answer to the previous question?
  4. Why is it important to know that Jesus leads you and watches over you as you strive to follow in his steps?
