Jesus is the Christ, who has come to fulfill the law and the prophets. Through his living out the commandment and his compassion for others, he builds his church, which is the means by which his commission given to his disciples is accomplished. The church is foundational to the work of Jesus, of which he serves as head, it serves as a manifestation of the gospel proclaimed about Christ, the good news, and the extension and expansion of the church is a way Christians make disciples of all nations, with the promise that Jesus will build his church and he will be with them.
